![]() The two brothers we saw from last episode, Chief Shasuryu Sasha, and the outsider/adventurer Zaryusu Sasha (god damn the names.) are from the Green Claw Tribe, and they are marked for the second tribe to be exterminated. The rest of the episode deals with the lizardmen. Mind you, those scenes combined probably lasted slightly longer than a minute of screentime. ![]() Cocytus seems to be the main Nazarick character we're rooting for here, though, because he wants to prove himself. She's also apparently some sort of bug humanoid with an adorable face that never moves, and little bug-legs for hair. The second scene takes place near the end of the episode, focusing on Cocytus in a building (the Fake Nazarick, I think?) with one of the battle maids, Entoma, who has the most adorable voice ever. I'm not quite sure if this is the beginnings of something genuinely sinister for both these characters, or just a joke because, y'know, penguin butler. The first is kind of a fluff comedic scene of Demiurge and Eclair meeting each other, and Eclair the penguin apparently wants to become leader of Nazarick, and announces it loudly. I dunno.Īnyway, let's get the non-Lizardmen scenes out of the way. Regardless of what the light novels were like, there is such a huge chunk of lizardmen politics thrown into here that while I appreciate, I was genuinely surprised that this dragged on and on for an entire episode and not spread out a little. But on the other hand, nearly the entirety of the episode deals with the Lizardmen, and I think that's a bit of overkill. So I am definitely supportive of making them characters first and plot devices second. On one hand, if the Lizardmen were crushed by Ainz's forces (or win against Ainz's forces, maybe, I dunno) without much buildup to who they are as characters, then it'd be nothing more than "yep, these guys were here", like any random encounter in a video game. More than half of the characters are full of themselves, Ainz is still a bad actor and I see no real reason why he continues to act the way he does (other than fearing the NPC's abandoning him, maybe there is some force that is forcing him without his knowledge).Huh, this episode is nearly all about the Lizardmen, isn't it? I'm of two minds about this. Story is all over the place and generally a mess, yet I still find myself liking most parts, especially when Ainz isn't acting like a massive a-hole.Īnimation is good, but not as good as the 1st season. ![]() One question must be asked: Where did the money go? After the success of the first season and manga/LN, one might think that Season 2 would get an even bigger budget than Season 1, but if so why did the overall quality drop? How dare they give best girl Nabe so little screen time!? Makes me sad :( Supposed real people acting chuuni as hell and while this is mostly cringy, it occasionally makes one smile. This feels like its just pulling bits of it at random, and doesn't feel like a story anymore.Īlso, dear Japan, please stop making anime out of things written by 12 year olds.Īinz/Momon continues his "world conquest?", except this season he rarely makes an appearance and the whole season feels like world building and as cute as lizard people in love are and as interesting as Sebas gaining an ego is, I just wished that some parts would have been given less screen time and other more. Like knitting socks for your computer desk. Overall, I'd say don't watch this if you have anything better to do. Overall, it left me liking an old character more, and just despising everyone else. New characters turn up and get no development. Nothing special to see here.Ī couple characters get some good development. I didn't notice in the first season because the story gripped me enough. Looks like it is setting up to be one of those things with 100+ episodes, and ain't nobody got time for dat shit.Īlso, the animation is really clumsy in this one. Also, all the story things happening last season? Yeah, nothing is answered at all. So instead of getting a story that is gripping and entertaining, you have episodes following stories that just don't seem important because they aren't tied to the characters we care about, or they just don't finish. An anime is shorter than a light novel, and they try to include too much. ![]() It has some interesting things, but it suffers from light novel syndrome. They try to do too much and as such none of it is done well.
