One thing I didn't expect that others should know is that you are not guaranteed access to the pools. This was obviously something that could happen anywhere and with the high temperatures, we were not likely to sit outdoors much anyway. The management company was very responsive and contacted pest control. There was a very large bees' nest on the porch, so we were not able to sit outdoors. The condo was spacious, clean and having three full bathrooms was amazing! We didn't spend much time in the resort as we were busy visiting Disney and Universal which were only a short drive away. We are returning to Reunion in a couple of months and are sad that this unit is heavily blocked out/booked up - not surprisingly though! It’s our favourite Reunion/Orlando rental we have stayed in so far and we come a lot! Thank you so much for a lovely stay. That being said, someone did get sent out as quickly as they could to help us.) Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone. ![]() (Only gave four stars for check-in, as we had booked and paid for an early checkin, the keypad didn’t work and we found that super stressful calling and waiting for maintenance to arrive, especially as my husband had to get to the airport to collect his son and was seriously running out of time. The children’s bunk-bed room was so perfect, loved being ground floor, right by the pool and thought the kitchen and how it was equipped was super. Everything was so clean and well thought out. Wish we had stayed in this unit for longer… And will definitely book this one again when we return. They don’t bother you and don’t make you feel unwelcome and it’s such a huge development that we didn’t have neighbors on either side the entire trip. But the neighbors aren’t uppity or a nuisance. The housing development is also very nice. I definitely recommend celebration and the tavern there for a good meal! It’s close to a lot of places for grub hub and door dash which is what we did most nights for sake of convenience. Sometimes the drive to universal was over an hour. The home is close to a lot of parks but travel time can get hiked way up with the traffic. My decompress days were spent standing in the shower listening to YouTube videos lol. The bathrooms are new and updated with lights that let you connect Bluetooth. So no stairs and no having to roam around in the dark. Say oui. This place was amazing! It’s a huge house perfect for larger groups and what is great is that it’s all one floor. It’s good to see Hozac, usually known more for peddling goofy garage-rock than feminist-informed post-punk, getting in on the reissue bandwagon with this one. What’s not to love? The back-story on these ladies is still fairly mysterious – apparently their entire recorded output up until now is limited to one side of a split 7” with another French band (The Normals) from 2006, and the songs on this single were pulled together from a batch of unreleased recordings well after the band’s demise. ![]() The three short tracks here are all-killer, no-filler, but the best of the bunch might be ‘French TV’, which wraps chanted Kleenex-esque harmonies around a skittering beat that speeds up and slows down with reckless abandon until it gets to the finish line (in under two minutes). If any of those scenarios appeal to you in the least, especially when done with a French accent, you need this record. ![]() The truth is that the women of Mil Mascaras were the Parisian faction of the early-to-mid 00s lady-centric No Wave/post-punk renaissance (think the jagged sounds of Erase Errata), which is just as plausible, really. You could have also convinced me that Mil Mascaras were some mid-to-late 90s post-riot grrrl band who were probably from the UK and probably along the Slampt Records axis (hello, Lung Leg!) and somehow had escaped my radar until now. So following that lead, if you had told me that the songs on this single were long-lost contributions to a Rough Trade compilation circa 1982, I probably wouldn’t have argued with you. In my perfect world, everyone would be giddy about the fact that you can now get your hands on a copy of a re-released Chin Chin LP at a reasonable price. Over the past few years, some serious historical wrongs have been righted, with a treasure trove of long out-of-print Euro femme post-punk classics being reissued at a steady pace – perhaps most noticeably with kill rock stars putting Essential Logic, Delta 5, Kleenex/Liliput and The Raincoats back into circulation to be pursued by the new school of kids tracing their steps backwards from current disciples (Grass Widow et al).
